Should dogs be allowed in the office?

I polled everyone at the Rentadesk community to see how they would feel about allowing dogs in the offices. I am quite surprised to find that so many people were actually in favour - although they were the definite minority.

Being a dog lover myself I would love to be able to bring my dog in now and then (if I had one!) but I can understand people's concerns that no matter how clean the dogs are they still smell and can cause a noise, and make the place look less professional, especially to our visiting clients who are working off first impressions.

Glad I'm in the majority here! I'm all for people being comfortable and feeling 'at home' in the office, but if you want to feel that 'at home' - why not just stay there?!

For me, the best thing about Rentadesk (apart from your random emails which always make me smile) is that is ISN'T my home! I think most people feel the same?

Love the poll though - thanks Bleddyn. And can't wait to meet your new pooch - when is it arriving? And will you be needing the help of the Rentadesk community when it comes to naming suggestions? Do I feel another poll coming on?

Hi Tanya, I don't actually have a dog at the moment, so don't worry you are completely safe!

It's good to know what people think though, perhaps if you have your own office in the building it's ok(ish) but not as part of the open plan areas.
